planning your visit

To ensure you take full advantage of our large campus, we recommend allotting at least 2 hours to tour the Prairie Museum.

Keep in mind that along with our indoor exhibits and art galleries, we have seven outdoor buildings that are open to visitors. In addition to wearing comfortable shoes, we recommend that you dress appropriately to withstand the changing Kansas weather. There are benches strategically placed throughout the museum and grounds that provide places to rest, and a wheelchair is also available for use— simply request it at the front desk. We are happy to make every reasonable effort to accommodate special needs; if you need special arrangements, please call (785) 460-4590 prior to your visit.

Although pets are not permitted within the Prairie Museum, we are happy to welcome registered service animals.
