The largest barn in Kansas and named an 8th Wonder of Kansas Architecture in 2008, the COOPER BARN measures 66 feet wide by 114 feet long and 48 feet high. The loft can accommodate up to 700 people and is perfect for wedding receptions and ceremonies, corporate events and meetings, educational programs and other large-scale occassions.

After a fundraising campaign, the Prairie Museum of Art & History is proud to announce that the barn now features a chair lift for handicap accessibility, a kitchenette for catering needs, and on-site restrooms.

Additionally, since the barn does not feature air conditioning or heating, it is only available for rent from April 1 through October 31. The barn does include lights and electricity, a beautiful and rustic atmosphere and space for dancing. A permanent stage is big enough to host an altar, a live band or a disc jockey. Additionally, the Prairie Museum of Art & History is pleased to offer free admission to all guests who attend events in the Cooper Barn.
